You need to find a compatible wall adapter to power it. You also need to get a multi meter and check to see if any fuses or the 7805 still work. If a a componite like the two I mentioned are fried dont worry replace those, if something like the CPU, audio chip, video chip are burnt then you need to find a new SNES.

Wait...the reason it dosn't work...is because you don't have any power going to it? Did you think that was optional? Or maybe it came from the TV plug  Get a SNES wall adapter on ebay you silly man...

If you hooked up a 4-AA battery pack to the DC input, it's not going to work. I believe the 7805 takes about 7.2 volts to work properly.

Take the SNES to RadioShack and ask for an adapter, they'll set you up with one. Tell 'em how much power it requires to run (500mA minimum I think…) and they'll give you the right adapter. Bring some stuff so they can test it when they're done (AV cables, game, controller if possible). You won't have to pay for the service, they'll just charge you for the parts.

Unfortunately, the adaptaplug tip for the PSone only comes in a package with 3 other ones, and it costs $10 just for the plug. The adapter is another $20 on top of that!. The SNES one should be more standard, and therefore cheaper.

either use 4 rechargable AAs (4.8v) and solder them to the "out" pin on the 7805 or if you're using a higher voltage battery if you're using a psone screen or something, solder the battery to the "in" pin on the 7805.
