how long will it last?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

i would recomend ditching the regulator seeing as it wont start with it, the screen can run fine off 6 AA Ni-MH i would guess over hour and a half

Depends. Did you do the LED mod on the screen? I think the screen with the original backlight system draws close to an amp. I'm not sure how much power the n64 draws, but I'll base my estimate on 500mah. So I'm guessing you'll get about an hour and a half out of it on a 100% full charge.

The whole shebang will run for about 1 hour if you a) use a regulator to lower the 7.2v to 3.3 for the N64 and b) you mod the screen with 6 white LEDs. The N64 draws 1.3-1.6 amps of power, while the screen draws about 500mA when modded. However, if you get a DC-DC convertor from digikey, the N64 will only take about 850mA max @7.2v, so you'll get a little under 2 hours instead. I suggest you look for some 2,500mAH AAs, you'll get better life and I've seen 8 and a charger for about $25. They are the same size, but you'll get more playtime out of them.

ok but im not using a regulator
3 1.2v batteries in series powers the 3.3v line and i dont want to mod it so without any regulators what the total play time

Well, you'll get a little over an hour on the system and a little under 2 hours on the screen. If you were modding the screen, you'd get a little over 4 hours instead (*comparison*). Trust me though, you'd be better off using a 7.2v 3 AH RC pack from RadioShack and DC-DC converting the power down for the N64…

Then you'll get…about 50 minutes total, except the batteries that are not part of the 3.3v will still have about half of their power remaining when the others are dead.
