well since i know my snes is ok and all that jazz i figured, what the hell its time for an UPDATE! woo!
i have the controller all wired up and hacked into 3 sections with the pad thingys attached go me! it works too
finally have a friggin power button for the damn thing, no more taping the ground to a ground strip!
still need to figure out how i am going to work the batteries, i need a new 7805 then i need to make a power circuit to work with the bypassed 7805 and still use the original powersupply. can i use just any 7805?
all thats left is to get my lcd and build the case (we all know i can do that at least lol)
Its a little strange but if you want to use 5 AA rechargables you then can use a LDO regulator. Although the only place I know off hand that sells LDOs are digikey and I'm sure they're more expensive as they work more efficently.

That is a problem as the system runs at 5v. I suggested using a power source of 6v with a LDO as you have a regulator to controll the voltage and not and the system shut down due to lack of power. Thats the reason why you dont want to run straight off batteries. A load created by the system's draw can cause the voltage of the battery to drop temperataly and this can cause the portable to shut off. Somthing no one wants to happen.

truest me on this, i tested it for over an hour, voltage only flucuates mebe.1v at anygiven time and will gradually drop till the batteries are to low to power it, the snes's lowest running voltage is about 4.3 and highest is over 5.5v (dont wanna find out exactly how high lol) im sure i would have pretty much the whole running time in a method like this, when i was doing that test the batteries were not recently charged
well some more news! i have the back part of the case most of the way done, haev to wait for my lcd to do the front. i have the power circuit most of the way done, the final dimesnions will be very colse to 7.5" tall 6" wide and 1.75 inches thick! it will look SO good too, nice rounded edges and stuff. im really excited!
sounds good, can't wait to see how it turns out. Rounded edges make for a very nice looking project. People like round things, thats why fat guys are funny.
Hey I resent that, Fat doesn't make me funny.
Its the fact I make fun of myself for being fat makes me funny.
And also in the right situations and people I can be hilarious.
