SNES howto

Post by Sparkfist »

Got this link PMed from Motoman. Its the page that ExtremeTech put up thats just about the whole SNES section of the book.

Look at it here.

I would also like to keep this thread clean. If its not a question about the link or specific to whats already here, please dont post it. And for any newbies please search for a exsisting topic for the info you need.

Wow...straight from the book!

How to re-insert pins into cartridge slot!!!

When I took apart the cart. slot, I ripped out a LOT of pins. I was pissed, but curious as well. I looked at the pins and immediatly recognized them.

When inserting them back, make sure the look like this:

Next, look where the hole is thats missing a pin and insert it at an angle first:

Then, just move it in slowly. It should slide in without any problems, if it feels its not going in, STOP, take it out, and do it again making sure its going in the correct way. Once you push in as much as you can, use something thin (tweezers) and push them in more until you hear a little snap.

Congrats, your cartridge slot is now back in good shape!!! I already tested this out and my system ran perfectly fine. No need to waste excess money on another cartridge slot!

ho to remove a cart slot easy

i know for a fact that using a "heat gun" as they are called does work safely for easy removal of the SNES cart slot. for saftey i recomend a thick towel or thick gloves! hot stuff can burn you! i prefer the towel because you can cover up parts of the board you dont want to get as hot. simplya aim the heat gun at the bottom of the cart sslot untill it drops out! easy.just be careful!

Simple SNES question that I didn't want to spend a thread on: how big is the full-size American SNES?

(outer dimensions of the case)

Can we get a repost of the SNES IC diagram? I can't find my notes and the link is broken.
