How would I split the controller board for my portable and have it still work? Do I have to have ide wire and attach it? If so, how would I do it? Thanks ahead of time!

Just cut it in the convenient place. Then use another controller for reference. Then connect the traces with IDE cable to whatever length you need. You might need to scrape off the coating before soldering. Does this help?
Yeah, that is also called "scoring" (I think...) Once the board is scored you just bend it till it breaks.
Or you could cut it with your dremel tool (also known as: the fun way )
Hey, thanks! another quick question. I have seen people who make a switch to change from the built in controller, to a controller port. How do you do that?

would you be able to connect a different controller like the zapper when you got that switch build in cause the other one is still connectect only the powers not reaching it
I'm not sure if I understand exactly, but remember that the zapper plugs into the the second player controller anyway. That's how you were able to move in games like paintball. So unless your portable had two built in controllers and two built in plugs I don't think it would be of any concern.
