Wierd mini SNES problem
I purchased a mini snes a few weeks ago, and for some reason, when I put in a game, it won't start up. I put that game into another snes, it works fine. Here is the wierd part about it...I put in another game I have, and it works like a charm. Any ideas where I can start off looking at?

Be sure to delute the alcohol with water. You dont want to use straight rubbing that can cause damage to the pins. Also if you do a seach about cleaning cart connectors you may find a thread started by me, its about the NES's but can be used with the SNES's if your willing to desolder the damn thing.Turbo Tax 1.0 wrote:hmm donkeyt seems to give everybody trouble
try a Q-tip with rubbing alchohol it works for me
Good luck.

That's the thing though...it's NOT an aftermarket SNES. I tried it on another mini-snes I have and it started up fine.
I forgot to bring it with me to work, so I'll bring my stuff home and clean it out tonight.

That copyright screen on the DKC games is fairly common when the connector is dirty-
I put in a DKC2 game into my regular SNES one time and it happened. I instinctively cleaned the system with a cleaning cart and Q-tipped the cartridge itself.
After that, I never saw the copyright screen again.
If you do the same as I did, the problem should be fixed.

If all else fails, take it apart!

I didn't bring anything home today so I'll bring the snes to work tomorrow and try cleaning it there. That should be the problem (I hope).

I finally found time to work on cleaning it out and it pretty much did the trick. Also, one game, I have to slant it a bit when I put it in the cart. slot. It's working...good enough for me. Thank you everyone!
