the dsub 9 port preobably has a different pinout than the nes controller. The easiest way to figure it out is to get the nes controllers pinout and use a multimeter to figure out the clock, ground, and power.

The nes controller's pinout can be found over at http://gamesx.com

I dont have a multimeter il get one if I have to but

I peeled off a chunk of hot gule over the place whre the cable to the port connects to the motherbord each points are labled they say G2, P3, P2, Vcc, G, G1, and P1

I dont know a lot about ports and how they work and to be honest im in a little over my head but do those markings mean anything that would be helpfull to me to any of you

once again thanks all for help

Edit: the port has 9 pins but onley 7 connections the point marked Vcc is connected to two pins and the point marked G is connected to two differint pins also

Edit3: acording to this site http://home.freeuk.net/markk/Consoles/S ... on_NES.txt Vcc is is the is the one I have in red below but according to this site http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/nessnes.htm its the one I have in green witch one is right?

(That as close as I could get to NES controll out useing text)

I have not figured out the rest at all yet

I would go with the gamesx pinout. They are almost always correct, and I've even used that guide. I'm not sure if those labels mean anything. I'm pretty sure G is ground and Vcc is Vcc, but I'm not sure what the corresponding pins to g1, g2, p1, p2, or p3 are. It seems (if all of those are seperate) that the plug has all 7 pins needed by any nes type controller, even the power glove.

Thanks Gannon

they are seperate I was thinking G is grounding also it seems to connect to an empty spread out part of the motherbord

EDIT:I know this is a very basic question but you sugested I use a multimeter to figure out the pinouts how would I do that?

I have a feeling that p1, p2, and p3 are the 3 data lines for the nes controller port. The standard nes controller only would use p1. That means that g1, and g2 are probably the clock and p/s lines.

Here is a pinout I made yesterday.
I used a SuperJoy3, but it should work with any Famicom clone.

now all I have to do is bulid my own connector and replace the one in there then when I am done with that I will have more questions about connecting a screen and what I have to connect to make sound come out of the speaker louder

and I deffinatley plan on connecting a zapper to it maybe evean my Uforse if I feel like it
