i need some help with this thing

Post by peppers »

EDIT:what I relly what to know is I am not clear on where to put the wire

sence myne has the build in games and seems to use the same compoents sept circuit bord is differint im not intireley shure what way to put the wire from right top end to left bottom end or the outher way around?

EDIT:if I put it the wrong way will I damage it?

I got one of these as a gift a few years ago and I just found it in the back of my closet and now I understand that it is for all purposes it is a Famicom clone or at least has the potential of becoming one it has built in games like Soccer, Karateka, Wrestle Wars, Star Force ,Galaxian, Road Fighter, and Duck Hunt (duck hunt is unplayable no gun) and has ports on the back one is cart port and outer is Famicom controller port (I think I am not really sure)

I have not tried putting a cart in yet cause I don’t have any Famicom’s I am going to get one of those converters I might get Fam board out of one of my carts that have one to test before I do well anyway

I figure I have to solder a wire to those two points im not really sure witch way is up on the thingy know what I mean?

it would also be nice if I could maybe load other games into its whatever its got maybe ones that use the same mapper? and put a switch between a wire I might have to add to make it read carts so I could switch back and forth so anyway

sorry about all that text please tell me what to do

here are some pictures

I'm not an expert on naoc but you could build or buy a cart adapter to play nes games and thats about it.

I know that I should have been more clear last light but I was very tired

Dateline: August 9th - Las Vegas. I was at the 2003 Classic Gaming Expo, wandering around looking at stuff. Then, at a table, I saw it! A Super Joy Fun Stick Player Mech Game Player Game! I rushed over and bought it. Since I had a screwdriver with me I didn't even wait to get back to the hotel. I plopped down on the couch where they were playing Warlords and ripped the thing open! Again, I found a "NES on a Chip" inside and it was pretty much the same as my other pirate Famicom, with one exception. There were 2 extra glop-tops on the board. This thing must have BUILT-IN crappy games! Wow!

Once back in Wisconsin I proceeded to connect my 72 pin adapater thing to this new pirate Famicom board. However, it did not work right away with regular NES cartridges. I then discovered that if you connected +5 volts to pin 31 on the Famicom side it would disable the crappy built-in games (darn) and allow a catridge to run.

Kill crappy built-in games - just add this wire!

Opps sorry I missed those...

BTW, AFAIK the port on the bottom is to plug in the controllers that came with the superjoy. (Its not to plug in fami controllers because they have more pins. Click here for more details on the nes / fami controller pinouts.)

Wait HK-47, you said its not? It is the Famicom had controller input and port more like that of a computer of the time. So who knows that might be the port for the second player.

According to the page I linked to, the fami controller had more pins. Take a look. I was just following that, sorry if I am wrong.

The connector is a 9 pin D-sub connector. Im pretty sure the port on the computer is a COM port.

the computer port name is RS-232c and, more commonly, a serial plug
