I was talking about that. I think he means to put in cold cathode lights instead of LEDs for power on lights and other stuff. 0_o

Yeah, but what if the screen had bolth? The cold cathode would turn on when an AC adaptor was in, and the LEDs would turn on when using batteries. I dunno, i dont think it would fit...

That is a great idea, you'd just have to find some spots for the LED backlight then. The top of the screen with superbright LEDs might work…

yeah i think the thinnest you can get an n64P with decent heatsinking is about .75" or .8" but that would be damn hard to do

My N64p will be fairly thin too, the main thing you should do is use the original heatsink, just bend the edges that stick up to be flat (bend them out). This will allow you to have a small area (about 1/4") for the fan to blow through. If you think this may overheat it, it shouldn't. Heck, it is the original heatsink that came with the N64, it should be better even now that it has airflow. Also, desolder the controller ports (even if you plan to keep them). The way they originally attach to the board is WAY too thick and big. Cut off all of the unnecessary plastic and bend the leads up (or just cut them off where they bend down and solder from there) and reattach them with ribbon cable. Same thing for the Multi Out, it is too massively HUGE, so it should be modified.
