...anyway, I'm pretty sure that the things I added made a pretty nice difference 
...hell, it wasn't looking too bad without the brightness mod, so it must be at least kind of improved 
...anyway, here's how do the NEW LED mod
:1. get some aluminum foil...yes, aluminum foil!!!
...you see, it helps spread the light around so that it doesn't go where it's not needed (like NOT on the screen )2. take apart the lcd backlight module. there should be two main parts (three, kind of). there are 2 sheets of plastic and one big plastic light diffuser...thing
3. take the aluminum foil and cut it into the shape of the "light diffuser" part of the LCD backlight module. the light diffuser (that's what I call it
) is that main piece of plastic with little dimples in it, remember ?4. place the aluminum foil under the light diffuser.
5. wire up the LEDs like you would normally (I usually wire 4, so the light is even
)6. once that's done, put hot glue over the leads of the LEDs so that when you put aluminum foil on top of them they don't short.
7. get small strips of aluminum foil and put them around the LEDs so that the excess light is directed back into the screen.
8. once that's done for all 4 (or however many LEDs you used), put the LCD backlight module back together and you're all done
