I saw a video of the portables that can be made (Thanks to Retro Gamer) and I decided to create a PS1P. The Book isn't in any shops (in Australia) and I came across two problems:
One, After "making an autopsy" on the PS1, there's a piece of metal covering the mother board (I've unscrewed everything). I don't want to mess around with it in the case that I'll mess it up severly.
Two, There was a ribbon thing connecting the CD placement thingo and the motherboard. The ribbon borke, is this going to cause some problems?
PSP problems >_>

HA! I love your name!
If you broke the CD cable then you're pretty much screwed. Unfixable. Sorry. Maybe you could replace it wihth a new one from a PC or something....
The metal shielding can be removed no problem, just don't touch the PS1 mobo or it might blow a fuse. You only have to short the fuse if that happens, no big dealio, but better careful than sorry.
