Yea, have the internal controller wired to the back of the player 1 port, and put a switch on the ground wire of both the internal and external, so you can switch between internal and external.

Then, when youre in the hottest of gaming moments, your worst friend can run up, hit the switch, and you die!

Yes, the internal controls are wired to the player one port on the inside, and there is also a switch to turn them off. It disconnects the power and data line to the internal controller when thrown (not really necessary to do the data line, but all I had was a DT switch, so I figured what the hell :P). You can see it in pic 4 of the final product.

if u can only switch one wire, switch the data line, bad idea to just switch ground.... if u can switch 2 wires switch the data and the vcc line, dont ever, ever ever switch ground lines, its just not how its done..

Power flows - to +. It was either Ben, gannnon, or spongey who said cut ground originally, and they've agreed with me several times when I've said it.

whoa daguy, u got a new avatar, neway, that was the time my console got fried while i had the ground switched off on the controller one, inevitably i ended up w/ a fried controller, and a fried rumble//memory pack... also, its basic electronics, look at your computer, the whole case is grounded, ur mouse is grounded to ur case, ur keyboard is too, everything is grounded, its better to switch its vcc, and data lines... most likely those will carry a surge or other badness

The case/mouse/keyboard ground would not be the same as the power ground (V-). They are grounded to prevent any form of electrical shock, static or otherwise, to the equipment. Its the same as the third prong of a plug.
