Yes, the internal controls are wired to the player one port on the inside, and there is also a switch to turn them off. It disconnects the power and data line to the internal controller when thrown (not really necessary to do the data line, but all I had was a DT switch, so I figured what the hell
). You can see it in pic 4 of the final product.

whoa daguy, u got a new avatar, neway, that was the time my console got fried while i had the ground switched off on the controller one, inevitably i ended up w/ a fried controller, and a fried rumble//memory pack... also, its basic electronics, look at your computer, the whole case is grounded, ur mouse is grounded to ur case, ur keyboard is too, everything is grounded, its better to switch its vcc, and data lines... most likely those will carry a surge or other badness

The case/mouse/keyboard ground would not be the same as the power ground (V-). They are grounded to prevent any form of electrical shock, static or otherwise, to the equipment. Its the same as the third prong of a plug.Warrior_Rocker wrote:whoa daguy, u got a new avatar, neway, that was the time my console got fried while i had the ground switched off on the controller one, inevitably i ended up w/ a fried controller, and a fried rumble//memory pack... also, its basic electronics, look at your computer, the whole case is grounded, ur mouse is grounded to ur case, ur keyboard is too, everything is grounded, its better to switch its vcc, and data lines... most likely those will carry a surge or other badness
