Power Question

Post by Radon199 »

Ok this is gonna seem really newbish but what the heck ill ask anyways. I have my power plug to go into my PSOne and Screen, the ground seems to be on the outside of the wire and the positive seems to be on the inside, is this true? Its from an extra PSOne power cord I had lying around and I would rather not blow up my PSOne and screen by reversing the leads.

Also another question that probably has been answered but I have 6 Alkaline bataries (for testing, gonna get 15 min rechargables when its done) and they pump out 9V, is this too much to be putting into my screen and PS? Again id rather not have it explode in my face when I try to turn it on.

I was looking over Radioshack.com and found this battery...

Would this 7.2V power the PSOne and screen?

yeah, that'll power the psone and screen, but I'd recommend not using a NiCD

If you keep draining and recharging NiCads to about the same level too many times, they will "think" they can only charge to that point. So if you use 1/2 the juice in the battery too many times, you're wasting 1/2 of the battery power.

NiCD battery's have what is called a memory. Basicly if you charge your cell when its only half-way drained you will set the maximum at that point and your battery life will be halfed... sorry I can't articulate my words any better than that...

I was hopeing to use some 7.3V Sony Camcorder batterys I have lying around the house but ill have to see if they still work or not.
