fyi:

sprites = 2 dimensional drawings
models = 3 dimensional creations(for lack of a better term)

sprites are for 2d, not 3d

Actually, look up voxels. A voxel is actually a pixel, the real term for the model/sprite thingy is a voxel section. It's pretty much a 3D sprite. It is drawn in layers. Each pixel is basically a cube in 3D space. It's kinda hard to visualize, I know, but look it up.

Hell no, that's a waste of time. I'll make custom tiles and characters though.

Uh, you need to buy it anyway. The free trial version is absolutely useless. It's only something like $20 anyway...

Why not use the original GBC or GBA engine? Far more authentic, and lets you play on real hardware, or emulate on many different devices (PSP, GBA, GP2X, PC, Mac, Linux, Dingoo, etc.)

If anybody wants to go that route, consider me on-board for as much time as I can spare. I made a pokemon game back in the day, just 3 gyms, but it sucked. :lol: Then I learned a lot of new stuff, and while I got some fun little demos together, I never applied it to a full game.
