SNES portable finally finished!!!

Post by newguy101 »

i call it the Suportable Nintendo, if not already taken. after 1 fried psone screen, giving up on the fc twin, and 2 months of guess and test work i finally ended up with a decent(not great) portable made from a SNES mini. pics taken from my craptastic 1.3mp camera phone so they better viewed from just the thumbnail

all in all id say it's not bad, especially for my first time dealing with electronics. definitely picked up some tips ill use when i build my next portable. for this i made a custom fiberglass mold and used model car paint for the metallic blue. didn't include a headphone jack because i didn't really care for one. the psone screen sound and brightness buttons are a little recessed but owell. thanks to all those who answered my many questions. Add this to the list if you would please, thanks.

That Case is amazing! Great job on a first portable. I hope we see more from you.

By the way you should post this in the news section or have a moderator move it.

It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.

This is one of the best on the site! Finally a handheld that can be held with the hands, as opposed to some mammoth 12x12x5" monster that people pretend they love with it's 2 hour battery life </rant>

thanks guys worked hard on the case, took bout a week to do. originaly drilled holes for the buttons, but when i went to mount it i found out that was a bad idea so i cut up the original controller casing and integrated it so i could have proper mounting. oh and i forgot to mention it runs off of 6 AA batteries, nothing special, but hey are internal, hence why the case is a little thicker than it could have been.

i wouldnt say its the best, by far, but i do think it is one of the better hand fitting portables, feels more natural with the curviness. modeled after a snes controller i enlarge to 300% and made it curve at the top to fit the screen

That's really awsome. One of the best cases I've seen on the site. How much did it cost as a total to make?

That really is a sweet case. Any chance you could post some more pictures of the cartridge slot?
