yes, i did mean that cable. I have tried to put it back in place, but it just falls back out again. Should I tape it in, or glue it in place?
Thanks :)

Yeah, that's the ribbon cable, and that's the interface from the LCD to the motherboard. You do need it to run, but what's the big deal? Just snap it back in place. There should be a gray tab above the white plasic part of the holding mechanism. It may appear to be in there rather tight, but it's not; take a flathead screwdriver or a fingernail and pop it up. Then put the ribbon cable (the "orange thing" ) back into there and clamp the gray piece back down. Easy as pie.
Good luck! :)

good, good :D thanks, just needed to know. wasn't 100% sure. is the ground needed to be connected to the ports, or is it unimportant?

Thanks in advance :)

you only need to connect one ground, and that can go to any ground on the psone screen

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

my screen has just stopped working. i had it running perfectly. I tried to cover up som,e of the remaining wires, and something happened. when i was doing this the picture just disappeared. now everytime I connect the ground to a wire, i get a flash from the backlight and then it turns off. the sound works well, but the picture doesn't show up, or is very faint. I checked the connection, but it was ok.

Any ideas? :?

I think I know what the problem is now. The backlight is broken.
I realized this when I read daguuy's guide on how to make the n64p.
I have a picture of the 'ghost' here.

(the picture makes the screen look a bit bright, but its not)

PS: You may be able to tell that its Majora's Mask playing :D

no, i didn't do the led mod :( . Another thing is that the screen colours are opposite from what they should be, and the image moves every 5 seconds

I think I know what the problem is. How many volts are you putting in this thing? I'd check to make sure you've got the proper operating voltage, because your screen is functioning as if the input voltage is too high. Try using the original power adapter and see if you get the same problem.
