Screen FAQ / useful info

I know this sounds stupid, but how does one get power down to 7.4v, if an atari uses 9v? Would you need some type of resistor, or what?

I bought this screen for a different project and it's a really nice screen. Costs a bit at @ $70 shipped, but I like it.

It has the same resolution as a PSone screen and it strips well.

*EDIT*

I tested the voltage, I have a multivoltage power supply that does 12v, 9v, 7.5v,and 6v. It works fine all the way down to 7.5v. At 6v it turns off and on. So I'm guessing that it should go as low as 7v just fine.

that looks like a pretty nice screen, does it run on anything lower than 9volts though?

I couldn't tell you now... I was using the screen for a projector and now I've wrecked it....

I'll buy a new one but it takes 2 weeks to get it from overseas.

Just to make sure no one misses this or asks this question again (hey, I searched the sticky and didn't see this info jumping out at me):

PSOne screen power consumption: 750 mA with original backlight, around 350 mA when modded with 3 LEDs

If you add more LEDs (some people here have even used up to six), you increase power consumption. Keep that in mind.

Any way we could put that bold sentence at the end of the very first post?

Wow that screen looks nice, Maybe the prices will go down and it will be our new hip gear.

quick question:

I have an intec screen pad (a lot like hipgear screen)
and it did not come with an adaptor. I either buy an adaptor (which I mentioned in the trading post), or I power it manually. I want to power it by putting voltage right into the regulator or the power cord (power cord preffered) just how much voltage do I need to pump into it?
I couldn't find this info in the early posts.
