What kind of plastic is the SNES case made of?

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

What kind of plastic is the SNES case made of?

Post by Jimmy »

What kind of plastic is the SNES case made of? I think I'm going to attempt a SNES portable, and I'd like the plastic to stay the same. And I'd like it to get that gross yellow tinge that Super Nintendo's get.

SNES's are made of ABS. And why would you want that tinge? It's disgusting! You could always just frankenmod a case out of the actual SNES instead of buying duplicate plastic.

I don't know. I think that it would make it feel more SNES-like.

Zing! :P
Lol! CTFan does cleaning the thing take away the yellow stuff, or does it just prevent it?

Just frankenmod it. BAM, looks just as crappy as the tingy SNES.

Prevent. Most of the yellow comes from smoke or UV rays (thankfully, I play SNES in the shade and live in a smoke-free environment  ). Even after that, though, it'll still get dirty; just clean it regularly to prevent.
