Parts of the vacuum form table

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Parts of the vacuum form table

Post by minkster »

Hey, I am building a vacuum form table from the the site www.studiocreations.com The design is rather simple, but I need to buy these two parts Image One is a circular fitting (that looks kind of like a part of a dorknob. And the other is a threaded pipe kind of thing. Do these parts have a specific name? I'm not too sure how to ask a person at home depot or lowes what I'm looking for. Thanks-minkster

They're both pretty common parts. Just bring the picture to the store and show it to the clerk. They should know what you want to look for. (find someone in the general area around the plumbing stuff)

To tell you the truth I don't remember the proper name for the flange thing off the top of my head, but the rod looks like a regular threaded pipe.

I was thinking of doing something similar, except I have the attatchment that makes the hole of the vacuum smaller. Then I would drill a hole in the table I'm using and then hot glue/calk that in place. That would seem like it would work right? (I'd do this if I couldn't find the parts)

Thanks, I think I will bring in the pictures and see if I can find it in the plumbing section of either homedepot or lowes.
