SNESp's complete!

Alright... after day 3, we didn't get a lot of work done, and the damn audio still isn't working. I'm definitely sure that the L and R connections are soldered fine to the snes board, and that they're soldered fine to the screen. My friend is using pins 2 and 3 of the second slot on the screen, and I'm using 9 and 10. Neither of them work. The only thing I have left that might work is the fact that we soldered the 3 headphone pads together (HP-R, HP-L and HP-S). It said so in Ben's book to solder those together. We're not using headphone ports for our portables, and we really wanna get audio working. Should we try desoldering the 3 headphone pads?
Edit: Oh yeah, does anyone know how much current an unhacked sony PSOne screen takes? I've heard everywhere from 500mA to 2A. I wanna try and calculate an accurate battery life figure. I'm using 2500mAh batts, but the original SNES board (850mA, whereas the mini takes 350 :\), so yeah.

I didn't hook up the audio to the pads on the pcb, I soldered wires to the cables coming out of the screen. I traced them back and they are the correct ones. For the headphone pads though, I just put a bit of solder on each pad so that they made a little spike coming up, then i just joined them together with my iron. I'm gonna try desoldering the headphone pads to see if it works that way, maybe I did short a ground with that or something.
I also read about this part in Ben's book... he tells you to get the audio lines off of an SNES IC instead of the A/V jack. I'll try that as well when I go back tomorrow.

Nope, I took the SNES 7805 off, it's getting +5V from a 7805 on the screen.
Phone is saying that he had to pull the stereo audio from the IC on the snes board for his portable, because the AV jack only gives mono or something.
My friend is trying to find the IC on his board (it's 6379A or something), but he says he can't find it... we're both using an orig snes board, and ben's book used a mini snes. Where would this thing be on an orig board?
This is the IC I'm referring to.

That won't do anything :\ The snes is being powered fine, video works, we just can't get sound.
We're in desperate need here... we can't do much with only video. We've only got like one or two more days to work on it.
- We're currently using pins 11 and 12 on the snes A/V jack for audio, and the screen isn't playing any sound.
- I see in ben's book that there is an IC (6379A) that outputs stereo, which he uses to build the portable; however, since we're using the original snes boards, the IC doesn't appear to be there.
- I have my audio going to pins 9 and 10 on slot 2 on the PSOne screen; my friend has his going to 2 and 3. Neither of them work.
- Both of us have the 3 headphone pads on the screen soldered together. We'll try desoldering those to see if it works.
Also, are there any IC's on the orig snes board that output stereo audio? There has to be one, we just don't know where it is and what pins.
