Case designers, I come to you in my hour of need!

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Right. I'm designing a console. Seriously.

I've pretty much nailed the electronics side, but one problem really is an issue. The case.

I want it to look really professional, not franken-case or anything, and I think you people are the best to go for.

Details about the console and requirements for the case:
  • Plays old games. Think pong
    2 controller ports
    A reset button
    Small
    Thin
    Not orange
Any questions, just ask.

Final note: THIS IS NOT A PORTABLE, IT IS A HOME CONSOLE.

Final final nore: Why should you help me? a) sense of satisfaction. b) if I can produce these cheaply, I'll happily send you one free of charge.[/list]

I would go for fiberglass. With fiberglass, after you carve a mold out of styrofoam, sand it down/paint it etc., it can be any shape you want, and it won't look box-ey (unless you make it that way).

I hear vaccuum molding turns out fairly nice cases too.

What console are you making anyways?
Hey, sup?
