Game gear cases
I just picked up a couple game gears for under $1 each. (one doesn't power up, one has screwed audio and one has a super-dim screen)
I know some other guys are using these shells for projects, what are you guys putting in them?. I like the idea of a GOAC and that only "cool" people would notice I'm using the wrong cartridges.
What screen fits well in these, one of the pocket TV's or a hip-gear?

I'm using a GOAC in a game gear shell as well. Still need to get the cart soldered onto it, but other than that, everything else is complete and ready to go.

Something anybody who is using a GG case should know; the insides of the case have a weird kind of metal paint. It's actual metal sprayed into the inside of the case and it covers the entire inside. I would hazard to guess that it's a cheap RF shield. If you let electronics touch it you will almost certainly get a short circuit and kill your project! As long as you hot glue your stuff above the metal coating you'll be fine.
Okay, just thought I should warn about it.

I've torn one of them down and I don't see any paint or plating on the inside of the case. I don't know if it's because I have old ones or JDM ones or whatever, but that will make it a lot easier. Now if my radicas would just get here.G-force wrote:Something anybody who is using a GG case should know; the insides of the case have a weird kind of metal paint.
