Jeffslot's SNESP done pics *WARNING*

Post by atkafighter » Wed Sep 21, 2005 11:05 am

Hi,
As you guys know Jeffslot has thrown in the towel as far as portablizing goes. So, I have taken over on his SNESP project. Here is my progress so far.
This is the concept I originally proposed to Jeffslot (you might remember this one).

Here are pics that he sent me before I recieved the parts.

Here is my better concept after discussing things that Jeffslot wanted/didn't want in his portable.

Here is the way I have the boards mounted inside.

All the wiring is done, and all I have to do is finish smoothing out this case. I'm not showing pics of the case until its ready. Oh yeah and until Jeffslot sees them first.
I receved the parts monday morning, and have been working dillegently since then. I expect to finish the project by next week. *Whew* I think this is the fastest portable I will ever make.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Looks good, add some paint to it and it will be great!

I've been working on it since Monday the 19th. Most of the wiring was already done by Jeffslot. I replaced his wires with more flexible ones, and fixed the PSone screen. You really can't tell but there is a coat of paint on it (the original tacklebox was clear). I would show you the front, but its a work in progress.

I agree it is quite large but I built this the way Jeffslot wanted it. I hope he likes it. Right now he is on a trip, and a completed portable should be a good thing to come back to.
EDIT: I forgot to let you guys know that it is now complete. I'm going to let Jeffslot see the pics before I post them.

Sure was! I'm quite suprised myself. I guess I know the SNES better than I thought I did. Heres the finished pictures by the way.

And one running SMW

Even though I've only done 2 portables I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it, and develop a little style of my own as far as cases go.

Please make furture images to 400x400 or smaller. I'd like my pages to load faster then half an hour. And dont say you cant (Gimp). - Sparkfist

Jeffslot wanted the controller intact and detachable that is why its like that. And the screen is not that dark I think the flash messes with the image or something. In the picture you can see the battery wires hanging out because the battery is attached to the back, but now I have the battery inside of the unit (very spiffy).
