well, the proper name is PCB Edge Connector, but we normally call it a cart. slot :P
Anyways, IIRC it's 2x25 pins at 0.1" pitch

are you looking for a substitute for a cart slot? that's pretty pointless because the N64 cart slot has metal shielding around it that keeps the cart on nice and tight

solder, it's worth it. if you don't use the original N64 cart slot the cart won't hold on as well

madness, are you just looking for a pin header like this:

http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/2.5 ... 114781.htm

??

if so, ive only ever seen one size in my life, and thats the size that fits into the cart slot holes. i did it the other day. just get any length thats longer than what you need, you can break them easily to the length you need (they are designed that way). also, the come in a 90-degree angle version. get those. it works perfectly. trust me. i did it. its great.

(i should mention that they dont fit in the middle two rows of holes, but in either the top two or the bottom two. one of these is already wired up to the motherboard, and you can activate the other row with little wires from the other side.... if you want ill just take a picure of what i did.)

I already said that it's 2x25 pins @ 0.1" pitch, what other info do you need to find headers? :P

yeah man, i dont know what your exact problem is. here is an idea of what you are going to be doing. (possibly not exactly. i made this up myself there could be a better way to do it. end disclaimer)

<img src="http://muss.cis.mcmaster.ca/~bernast/im ... e%2024.jpg">

<img src="http://muss.cis.mcmaster.ca/~bernast/im ... e%2026.jpg">

"normal" pin headers dont fit into the middle two rows of holes, but they can go into the bottom two rows. (you then need to connect the front row of pins to the right holes with little wires underneath) I used ones that are bent 90 degrees, to keep the profile of my board low. theres 40 (well 38 with a gap) that an IDE cable can plug into, and four extra ones that i need to find another connector for. i left 6 holes unconnected, that seemed to be redundant grounds. ill tell you if it still works sometime next week... when i have time.

[i have heard of SCSI cables being used instead, im sure theres a good reason for this. but i dont have any SCSI cables]
