Game Gear => Genesis

Post by Nes Man »

I know that you can play SMS games on a Genesis through a power base converter but, I was wondering if the same would be possible for Game Gear Games? The SMS and the Game Gear have the hardware but the Game Gear has a bigger color pallete. I'm just wondering what you guys think. :roll: I want to play Game Gear Games on a Genesis so is it possible?? :wink:

Well you can try to make a converter by combining the master gear and the power base. Wouldnt be the most eye pleasing thing but it would get your goal set.

You'd have to change the master gear so that it can hold the carts of the GG, and then just wire the two devices together.

If it can be done you wouldn't need a master gear neccessarily all that does is connect pins between the SMS cartridge and the GameGear. So if you got the cartridge connector out of spare or broken GameGear and sawed off the top of a SMS cartridge so that the pins are all thats left connect the neccessary wires, then plug it into the Power base I don't see any obvous problems.
