Post by Frank809 »

First is ask Gannon or Black Six to move this to the Dreamcast fourm. Secondly is go to doomportables and check out the dc-dc coverter they suggest, although its not going to be that much smaller its efficent. Look to get a high capasity battery rated at 12v (most of ues here suggest laptop batteries) though you can look and find others. Beyond the power and batteries there isnt much else you can change, re-configure yes but everything of the Dreamcast is as compact as its going to get.

I have found a mini-itx power supply that would work great with the Dreamcast and it only requires 11V. That means that it'd work great with Li-Poly batteries. :P

Wouldnt that be a problem as the Dreamcast needs a 12v input, so the power supply would have to use a voltage step-up. Well maybe I'll figure it out later.
If your interested in some help on powering Poppe had done quite a bit of work on powering a dreamcast (2 hours 20 minutes) check ou his site it could help you. ryanpoppe.com

It's a mini Itx power supply meant for computers. Since it can deliver up to 5A on the 12V line using a 11V battery I don't see a problem with it.
