The nomad mark-II

Post by totokan »

Yup, another portable concept from the depths of my brain On a completley unrelated topic, My Nes-H is ALMOST done. Need to get a screen. (And this time, It's personal). I've got one of the greatest failures since the VB, the sega NOMAD. What i plan to do is something noone has ever done before ((not counting kevin's NES). I'm going to take this perfectly working nomad ('tis a shame) and rip it apart, mutating it into the NOMAD mark-II, A GOAC (with a screen) in place of nomad guts. The only difference will be the battery pack built in, and the enlongated battery life. Plus, the screen will be a good one.

For the 99% of us who couldn't understand that, let me shorten it: Nomad - nomad guts + GOAC = good screen =NOMAD mark-II
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

Sounds cool! I plan to do the same thing, but with a game gear. Looking forward to it. Say, are you thinking of painting it? How about silver  ...

um, why would you do that.

you have a nomad motherboard that has a z80. and you want to swap it out with a imposter? If im not mistaken, the screen is what sucks most of the battery. Not to mention the case isnt so hot. why not try to get a less draining screen, a different case, and possibly a slimmed down motherboard.

unless you dig the case, in that case (haha bad pun[haha i laugh at my own jokes]) you could go nuts on everything you said.

i thought the nomad uses a fake mobo. It uses the same one as genesis? In that case, it would be better to do the same thing on a GG, something that really suxxorz. Maybe even a NOAC/GOAC combo system, so i can play games i actually have (i don't now, nor have i ever owned an SNES. My uncle has one, and i like it but i don't wanna buy one than buy games too)

Does the nomad have AV out? If it does then, yeah, just replace the screen. It'd be kinda pointless to do anything else with it.

Does the Nomad work? I'd like those guts <3

Also it does have A/V outputs, but the built-in screen is RGB.

That's.. a pretty stupid idea. Just make a new case and replace the screen so it has more battery life.

Also, if possible, add X, Y and Z to the Nomad (if it doens't have it).
