cutting pcbs
i decided i'm gonna include a D-pad in my M64 but i don't know if the vibrations from cutting the controller pcd with a dremel will damage the chip or not. will it work? i know there's a really safe way to do it because people sometimes cut N64 mobos without breaking them but how?

i just dremeled off the part of the controller (shown in the pic). i have the kind of control board with 4 fuses on the joystick threads. i cut a bit to close to the fuses and so now i can either bypass them or solder to them (instead of to the threads i accidentally cut off but was intending to solder to). i don't want to solder to them because they're really small and close together. is it OK to bypass them or will something bad happen if i do? here's a pic to clarify what i talking about:
