n64 crashing?

Post by sbf »

Hi, my Ebay n64 has crashed recently quite a few times when playing 007 Goldeneye James Bond,

it has a 3rd party 1mb expansion pack,
could this be the problem? the game played without crashing on my other n64 that I have.

Thanks.

are the cartridge contacts clean? does it work with a jumper (not expansion) pack?

When I got in from work I tried it with the jumper pak and it hasn't crashed at all yet!

The funny thing was, with the 3rd party expansion pak, if I wobbled the 007 game slightly during gameplay, it would freeze, but only on bond, now I can wobble it a lot, and it won't freeze!

Must be the pak.

Is the genuine nintendo expansion pak prone to casuing crashes? or is it this cheap s**t (poo)?

when you say crashing, do you mean the game spontaneously resets? i have the same problem with my N64, but it may be because my 3.6v pack keeps dying.

if the 3.6v battery pack keeps diing before the 7.2v battery pack, put 2 sets of 3 AAs in parrallel. BTW, love the pic in your sig, but could you please shrink it?

oops. sorry about the size, is that better? yeah i thought it was good too, i got the idea from my preacher's t-shirt :D . and about my 3.6 dying b4 my 9.6, i actually found out that i had been undercharging them. when you add up the current of the 3 Ni-MH AA's, you get 5.4 amps. it turns out that my crappy charger's charge time of 13 hours only charged them to about 2.2 amps. so, using a formula that came with the charger, i found out that i have to charge these mother(fudge)rs for 36 hours to get 3 hours off them. and daguuy what do you mean by wiring 2 sets of 3 AA's in paralell? ive never done something like that.
