MAX712 help.....
i have the max 712....and in the typical operatin circuit (page one of the datasheet) there is no mention of what wattage resistor is required for any of them. also there is no mention of what voltage and type of capacitor

For the caps, the ones with 2 straight lines are ceramic, and the ones with a straight line over a curved line are electrolytic. C1, C2, and C4 are ceramic. C3 and the 10µF clean up cap are electrolytic.
If you're using a 12V PSU, all your caps should be rated at about 15V. If you use 1.5W or 2W resistors, you should be fine, because the highest draw I could see was 100mA(1.2W at 12V).

It's a transistor(properly labelled with "Q"). I will try to find an equivilent, but can't garantee anything. You might want to order everything from Digikey, because then you will get everything together.

My samples (2packs of both 712 and 713s) should be coming sometime this week (I ordered them around 8-10 days ago), seeing as how i need a lot of other stuff from digi-key, I'll be ordering from them.

I Googled the part, and found one site selling them, but none of the big sites. I believe that the 2N6109 and 2N6107 are equivilent, but both are equally hard to find. I found a thread on another forum about the 712/713, and they were talking about the 2N6109 a bit. It was at the top of Google when I searched 2N6109. I will try to find it again.
EDIT: I found the thread.
I was doing some thinking, and I think the 2N6109 is just a general purpose PNP, so you may be able to use a 2N3906 transistor. I also found a site saying the SK100 transistor will work.
