Hey my 15W iron turns out its obviously not hot enough... So was wondering what kinda soldering equipment others use when soldering and desoldering on their consoles. And/or other usefull tools

Yeah my bad. Sorry im pretty new actually doing lots with soldering, usually only little things. But yea so after i let it heat up last night around 1AM i decided to try and let it heat up extra long. And I scraped off some black stuff that was on the tip and tinned it and grabbed an old mobo and practiced attaching wires to a small chip and it worked very well after being heated up. So then I thought well if its working here now maybe itll work there now! But then went to bed.
So I'll probably have time to test it saturday. But the exact thing im trying to desolder is the 4Pin connector that hooks the mobo to the power supply. And the USB/Ilink post and the AV post All of which I no longer need.
And are obviously a pertruding waste of space! Thanks for the tips ill be tryin them all saturday...

Alright i got all the AV wires soldered and labeled without destruction XD.
As for the power connector your idea sounds pretty good because all 4 at once is pretty impossible at 15W and even one at a time is hard because the solder is coated so thick! I'll use my dremel on it tomorrow when everyone in my house isnt asleep
. They may become very angry if i decided to start dremeling off pieces at random.
Oh yeah and the optical connector came off no problem.
