SNES "hard drive"
is there a way to hook up some kind of hardrive or storage device that could play the games off there instead of carts?

No, I'm talking about an unofficial device. It probably came from Hong Kong. I can't seem to remember where I saw it.
EDIT: Here it is. This one is a self contained unit, but I believe I saw one that was just an add-on for the Snes before.
