Post by gannon »

I've started working on a psp, and the one thing I really need to know before I start cading it out is if there are any games that require the analog controlls.

To my knowlege the only games that made use of the analoge sticks (other then an alternitive d-pad) are the ones later down the road, like '99-whenever they stopped producing. For the most part you can do without the analoge sticks its really something that caught on after the release of the PS2.

Only two that i've played are coming to mind: Ape escape(best monkey catching game EVER!) and armored core 2(does it use them in the originals? I've got no idea.)

The armored core series on the PS2 uses the analoge sticks yes but not the three AC games on Playstation.

ok then, I don't think I'm going to put analog controlls into my psp then.
I'm mainly not putting them in because they would increase the width of my psp by around 1"

If possible, I'd reccomend rigging some way to plug an external controller in, then, as that would allow games like the almighty ape escape to be played on your portable.

What like that switch that Gannon and a someother members talked about in the N64 fourm? If he did that it would be benifital but the extra controller port may casue the case to get thicker or wider, something Gannon's trying to avoid.

I'm keeping both controller and memory card ports, I'm just going to hack them up a bit so they aren't as tall.

Why are most N64 portables so big, it doesn't seem like they should?

Ahh whats the point of asking that question here?

Also Gannon do you have a design for your PSp yet or still in planning stages?

Is it gba or gbc style. Do you guys mean a mini spdt switch, so you can plug in a controller to break the current on the built in controller. Also nice new avitar sparkfist. I know it's from the Castlevania games it's just hard to tell.

It's going to be gba style, and yeah, I use a submini spdt lever switch for the auto-controller switch.

A the switch your talking about is that sold at radioshack? After I get the damn atari running and stuff I'll add things to it (make it bloaded).

Also yes it is from Castlevania, its SOTN Alucard. I got a nice number of pics of him, this is what I use as my avatar on the MB I've been/go to.

Hmmm... How did this post get here, it was supposed to be in the relocating N64 cart slot topic!
