So I came across a few topics where people said you need a custom regulator if you had 14.8v batteries. I'm gonna buy 4 3.4v 5000 mAh batteries. Do I need a custom regulator for this???if so how do I make/get one????

You don't not need a custom regulator for anything over 12v.
