How to build a rechargeable battery circuit.

I'm building a portable game console, as far as wiring goes I am good but the only thing I don't know how to do is power the darn thing in a way that the batteries will have a charging port. I read and watched Bacteria's guide on how to power a portable console (specifically a N64) and he never shows where to put the female port for recharging in the circuit. Would I just solder it onto the wire leading back into the battery?

I am taking the lithium cells and protection circuit from battery here if it helps.
