Commodore Monitor Question

Post by Mr. Bastey »

Well my friend and I are building a smallish arcade cabinet, and with my budget affording TVs is difficult. There's an old used Commodore monitor in a local store, but I'd like to know if using it is a good idea first before I make a purchase. Anyone know if they're any good? I'm just hoping they work well and aren't prone to problems. Any suggestions?

Maybe, do you know what model it is?

Otherwise look for an analog monitor compatible with a 15.5 kHz horizontal frequency. Digital EGA/CGA monitors will distort the colours severely, and most VGA need a minimum 30 kHz horizontal frequency or they self-destruct (really).

Sorry about the late reply, I haven't been able to get on lately, been busy. Anyway, I'll check the store tomorrow to see what model it is, I can't remember since I was last there.
