how to secure heatsinks on n64 chips

Post by markus »

Hi, I'm making a portable N64 and I want to know what is the best way to secure heatsinks on the motherboard's chips. I cut up a gamecube heatsink, if that helps you visualize it. I just whant to know what's the best thing to use. Like superglue or something?

Thanks
Markus

You can use superglue. Just apply it on the corners of the heatsinks and not on the whole thing.

Or use Arctic Silver Thermal Paste.

So like just around the border of the chip? Like where all the contacts are?
Thanks for the advice!

Superglue? haha yea that could work.

I was going to put those 'sticky' heat labels. They a sticky, hold the heatsink and also are thermal... eBay them...

Another way would be to take some wire and put it across the heat sink and glue the wire down.
