Hacked pads with analog control?

I'm planning on building an arcade controller with two joysticks, one for the left analog stick and one for the right. The controllers I plan to use are for PSX and Xbox 360. I have a few questions though:

Assuming I have a Seimitsu LS-64 analog joystick, to keep analog function, how does this get wired? Does it need extra power?

Assuming I have any other digital joystick, losing analog function, how is this wired?

Any help would be appreciated. And if anybody could actually wire a pad for me, that would be great too.
