The NES circuit board is actually pretty resilient. Unless you put more than 5 volts it should be okay. Do you have a game in? Is it in correctly? I don't want to belittle you by saying "HAR HAR U NO PUT GAME IN RITE!!", the cartridge connector can be very finicky.
I have nothing clever to say here. Sorry.

The NES is powered through a 7805 regulator, so the mobo of it gets 5 volts to run from the power supply.
The answer to 1984 is 1776!

How would you do more then 5volts.
I think the way that I fried it was; I had a switch. That I was adding to the system, but I accidentally put wire 2 onto wire three.
Thus having to grounds.
I'm new to electrical things; so my knowledge is vastly limited,.

See if the 7805 is still outputting 5V with a load.

In order for us to help you, I have two quick questions:
1) Are you still using the original NES power supply or are you using something else?
2) Do you own a multimeter?

1) Yes, I have a original NES Power adapter; from Australia, don't know if they are different to USA ones.
2) Unfortunately, no.

The only difference is that it accepts 240V, rather than the 120V that's used over here, and it has an australian plug.
