Getting Custom Cases Manufactured (how much does this cost?)

So far I have yet find any GENERAL ideas of pricing for getting small plastic cases manufactured.

It isn't very complicated, doesn't need to be very high quality plastic (just durable). I would consider producing about 1000 of them if the price was right.

I am really just looking for a ball park idea as to what this could cost. Is it expensive to get plastics produced?

Has anyone had any experience getting plastics manufactured? Any recommendations on the best/cheapest places?

Any recommendations for a place to get a cheap prototype built?
