Hey everyone,
I have been reading around here for the past couple weeks and decided I wanted to attempt a 360 laptop. Obviously most people that start these never finish, but I am going about mine a little differently, so hopefully it wont be nearly as complicated as some of the others. When I thought about the portable I wanted to make I realized a few things:
1. The case had to be big enough to carry everything I would ever need to play. That meant a compartment for a controller and power cord.
2. I needed it to be big enough so I wouldn't have to solder and rewire a million things to try to get it to all fit. I am new with all that, and wanted to avoid it as much as possible.
3. The screen needed to be 1080p. Most people don't want to go this big with a portable device, but it just sounds so awesome to me so I am going to do it.
Here is what I have in mind. I ordered this case http://www.mezzi.com/Aluminum-Briefcase ... XXT-BLACK/ which is a whopping 22''x16.5''x4.2''. This will allow me to fit a 21.5'' 1080p LCD monitor into the case. The bottom of the case will have the xbox 360 parts, the powerbrick, and a power extension cord with 3 slots. The xbox 360 power brick, and the LCD screen's power cord will plug into the extension cable. The extension cable will run out the back of the case, and into an outlet that will power both the xbox and the screen. I will then have an HDMI splitter that will have a feed going into the LCD screen, and a female adapter that allows you to plug the xbox into a separate outside video source. There will be many holes for air to escape, and a number of fans to keep the air circulating. I will lastly have a compartment for my controller.
So, does this sound like a nightmare? Or am I actually making sense with how to construct this beast? I feel like this would all work, but I might be missing something. Any suggestions, praise, or criticism?

It is 20.5'' long, which is about 25'' diagonally. The screen is 21.5'' diagonally. There is plenty of room with it I have measured it all out. Does it seem like it should all run though?
