Xbox 360 hard drive failure discovered!!!!

Xbox 360 hard drive failure discovered!!!!
After wiring the hard drive and not being recognised, I then rewired it to the motherboard and the xbox shows a E69 error - the hard drive (hitachi) has failed and I am sure the connections are right. I bought it from someone of ebay who said it was new but actually the hitachi hard drives I told were the old type ones. I am going to complain tot he ebay seller. Do you think the drive is actually broken or that there is something else wrong? Should I buy a new Hard drive?

Hi.
Make sure that all the connections are CORRECT and that you have it GROUNDED. (IE: The metal outside of the plug is wired to the PCB ground)
The main reason, is that you have a wire touching or something. Again, be sure to check them all 5 times atleast!
