X-Top Mark II - Finished!

Post by thetwoj1014 »

Here we go again!

In early April Rug and I were reactivated via commission to build a second X-Top. The whole build process went much smoother as a whole, though we did still run into our fair share of small snags along the way. Special thanks to collinE for his help with the troubleshooting of the cutting of the monitor boards.

Features:
-New Jasper 360
-120GB HDD
-N-capable Wireless Adapter
-Ethernet Port
-2 USB Ports
-Switchable VGA Output
-Pushbutton Potentiometer Volume Controls
-Gateway 1775w 17" Widescreen Monitor
-Apple USB Keyboard
-Single Cord Power Supply

Advantages over last unit:
-Vastly improved airflow due to eliminating the monitor inverter board
-Quieter due to having half as many fans
-Rounded edges, sleeker look
-Single cord between lid and base
-Blue LED Ring of Light (seriously, it's cool)
-No power button for audio, auto power on when plugged in

Now for the fun stuff

There's a whole copulate worklog there!

You're too lazy to go look at the worklog and see, oh GEE, HE USED THIS MATERIAL?

Honestly I am too lazy to go and look through his worklog just to find one little thing.
Easier just to ask.

This is the only way I can express how I feel about the X-Top Mark II.
I have nothing clever to say here. Sorry.
