Buy a Peek 7" screen.

Cut Xbox 360 case.

Take Peek 7" out of it's case and glue/epoxy screen inside Xbox where you cut hole.

Find a 7.5v-12v source for the screen and attach screen power. Solder composite wire from Xbox 360 to screen.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I think I will use the 7'' screen from this DVD player I just got.

How would I combine the power sources? The 360's power supply is inconvenient enough already. =P

That's such an ugly-small screen on the original mod. Has anyone else pondered a full 15-17 inch LCD like the laptop, but directly integrated into the case?

Again, the screen you have is blindingly small, I hope you plan on having optional TV output as well. But, if the screen works for you, good luck! And be sure to log it all, as I'd like to see the process.

Also, I would look at Ben's guide to making a 360 laptop. He discusses combining the power sources.

If you use a 15" screen you will have to enlarge the 360 case.
You could buy a 10" screen from AEI Components, that would look great.

I would rather not spend $500 at the moment. =P

I suggested the Peek 7" because the screen is super slim, runs off very low volts/amps, is led backlighted so it looks terrific, and you can get it for $85 shipped.

The Dvd screen is going to take up a lot of room.

I don't get why you would even want this :?

Why play on such a small screen when you can cheaply integrate a much larger one.

The novelty factor most likely... or just something to get you by.

If I was going to use a bigger screen I may as well make a laptop, and I don't have the time for that kind of project.

Not necessarily, if you use a bigger screen it will
1) Look better
2) Be easier to play on without having your face 2 inches away from the screen.
3) Did i mention it will look better?

You could easily screw a 15" monitor to the outside case of the 360, plug in a few wires to it, and solder/plug those to the 360 and be done with it, it would look fairly professional, and better, be playable.

Any standard computer monitor ought to work, you can get those for $50 on ebay easily.
