The red and white phono plugs on the vga adapter, are they supposed to be able to be plugged into pc speakers with a 2 female x 1 female coupler?
ex:
speakers x 2----> amp----> phono coupler====(Red and white cables)> to 360 through vga adapter
I don't know if it's the phono coupler that doesn't work but I'm not getting any sound and the speakers work when hooked up to a pc, cd player, etc. and the vga part of the cable seems to work fine.
I don't know how else to wire an amp to the 360, since I'm not wiring the speakers to the mobo... the amp has one wire that somehow has to be wired to it, would I just wire it to either LEFT or RIGHT AUDIO or what?
thanks

Could you show pictures of the adapter set you're using? It should work if your PC speakers are powered. I'm not very familiar with X360 VGA adapters, but if it has optical out as well, it may need to have a switch toggled to output via the phono jacks.
As for the amp, it sound like a one channel amp, meaning it amplifies right or left and you'll need two of them to do stereo sound.

Ah I didn't know two speaker computer amp would be one channel...
So I should just solder the wire to either one of the phono jacks?
Probably won't get all the sound but oh well :\

Re: vga cable audio
Odd... I really need pictures now. Unless this is a really cheap set of speakers, it should have input for two channels.
Re: vga cable audio
You might be right cause they're the cheapest speakers for a pc that I could possibly find
I don't have my camera with me, left it at work, but I've never seen pc speakers with more than one cord either way that's why I didn't think I needed pics -.-
You know that green one you plug in the back of the computer and it will play audio through both speakers? Yeah, shouldn't that work somehow without having a second amp considering it doesn't need a second amp for anything else :S
I don't know but cheap or not, I thought all pc speakers were like that please correct me if I'm wrong...not talking like SS speakers or anything, tho
Thanks

Re: vga cable audio
PC Speakers may only use one plug, but if you look at it you'll see there are three connections on there. One is left channel, one is right, and the other is a common ground. Both the left and right channels need to be amplified separately. The most popular op-amp chip I'm aware of is the LM741, you can get a package that has two amps on one IC, making it easier to wire and connect everything.
At least, based on what I've read I think that's what you're looking to do.

Earlier I was going to use the LM386 as used in the wii laptop http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/06/how- ... stallment/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but the parts list, the schematic and the diagram all looked different to me, different amount of resistors, etc. and I couldn't tell which way was the right way :S

Re: vga cable audio
The LM386 should work as well. You can find plenty of information on either with the help of a little friend called Google.
