PS1 screen minimum voltage?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PS1 screen minimum voltage?

Post by monster »

what is the lowest voltage a PS1 screen can have and still work?

a N64 can have as low as 7.2V on the 12V line, and the 3.3V needs to be about that. i can find 3.3V and 8V regulators on digi-key, but i don't know what to look for for the PS1 screen. high effeciency would have been nice... but they don't have a nice selection of them...

i am going to be soldering these by hand, and if anyone could mention a model that is pretty effecient and in a needed voltage for a portendo^64 could you please tell me?

also, do i need to take out the transformer on the PS1 screen if i want to do the LED mod?

so i guess i could just put the screen and the 12V rail in parallel with a high amperage regulator
