Can;t seem to find these parts.

Post by Dynastes »

I plan on building the portable NES but can't seem to find these parts.
1.Transistor 2N4401 (whole package)
2.Coaxial DC plug, 5 mm OD, Radio Shack 274-1567a 1
2.1 mm ID (Size K)
3.Ni-MH 9.6-volt, 1600-mAH Radio Shack 23-331 1
battery pack
4.Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery charger
5.Phono jack
6.Tact switch, 4.5 mm H=3.8 mm (Digi-Key Says it's obsolete.)
7.Speaker, 28 mm (Digi-Key Says it's obsolete.)
Also the Coaxial DC power jack (Size K) isn't in stock at Radioshack online.

If it's not online, chances are radioshack doesn't carry it. If it is said to be obsolete, manufacturers have quit using it. Doesn't mean it won't work. A tact switch is a tact switch is a tact switch. Search around online, and not just for specific part numbers. You'll find what you're looking for.

Don't use 9.6 volts. If you are using a psone screen you will fry it.

A 7808 or a 7805 with resiostors or even an LM317 I believe will let you use higher voltages.

I think we should check to see if you can withstand 220 volts

As a replacement for the power jacks, you can just use this item. you also will not have to replace any plugs with this. just wire the male end inside the system
