As many of you know, I'm building a wireless NES controller for my Nanotendo, but if you want to, it may be cheaper/easier to go this route:
They're available at http://www.playmessiah.com. I just found them. Don't know if they work, don't know if the company's trustable, don't know how much they cost.
Just FYI
I think it's ugly, and mine's going to be beautiful, as it's built into an original controller.
Jesus saves. Everyone else takes 20 points of damage from a fireball.
I am the founder of Messiah Entertainment. Yeap it is going to be 2.4 GHz which I think you will like.
... I am suprised you think it is ugly. We shaped it like the SNES pad because it was much more comfortable than the original square pads... and I thought we did a good job of capturing the look of the orignal controller even though we updated many of the features.
Anyway... I think this site is cool and love some of the Mods...

Later.
Dogbone style (like the toploading NES) would have been cooler IMO. Still nice though.
We thought about going the route of the dog bone shape... but in the end it came down to a cost issue... bringing brand new products to market for classic systems is quite a risk. Because of this we only could afford to open one tooling... which is the metal mold used to form the plastic. Getting the tooling made costs between $20,000 and $30,000... and that is getting it done in China... it can be double that if done in the US... Yahhh... ouch...!!!
If the first two are successful or at least break even, we have many other classics designed already... including a Wireless NES Advantage and a Wireless Genesis Pad
The bulge...
Well unfortunately when you go wireless you got to have room for the darn batteries. That means the controller gets thicker or you end up with a bulge... we opted for the bulge because it could blend in with the ergonomics.... Actually… the angle of the picture looks a lot worse than it really is… I can post a better picture but I am new to all the HTML stuff…
this is actually BBCode, which is similar to HTML. for images, use a "[img]"%20tag%20to%20start,%20the%20address%20of%20a%20webpage,%20and%20a%20"[/img]" tag, all minus the quotes.

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.
yeah, I can understand the constraints you would have.
I notice you used the exact same case for the nes and snes controllers also, I like that since it's a nice way to cut costs. It would be nice though if you had something like turbo buttons where the x and y buttons would go for the nes controllers.
I like the upcoming controllers too, but I'm sure that those might be awhile off after seeing the price you have to pay for the molds.
Here are some pictures of the back of the controller.
The hump in the middle is for the batteries... unfortunately you cannot get around that with wireless, but it was designed so that it contoured to your hands perfectly.

They do look very nice, especially the little bump to wrap your fingers around, nice touch. Now I really wish my mom hadn't made me sell my NES a while back. *Sniffle.*
