I had two broken game genies so I salvaged the main pcb from one and the cartridge connector from the other and managed to make one sort of working one.
I put it in my retro duo with gyromite in it and then it will let me enter in a code, but if I press start it gives me a gray screen.
I don't have any other games to test it with yet, but is this a common problem, or should I check my soldering?

My Game Genie does this at times. Just clean the connections really well.
